Hi Michaelthank you for your thoughts and encouragement Michael. The painting is continuous but very few make the blog or stay there :)
Lovely. You really captured a wonderful expression on her face.
thank you Nicki... she had quite a unique expression.
A portrait that oozes quality.
thank you Mick, very kind of you to say so.... it is a learning process, i guess ;)
Yes, you can see a million perspectives in her eyes. I always find they are the most important element in a portrait like this.
thank you for your thoughts on this portrait Sheila.... yes, eyes are probably the first thing that attracts me when making the portrait too and everything else grows organically from one eye ;)
Good Evening Rahina,Wow! This one really grabbed me. It's the look on her face, wonderfully captured by your highly talented hand. I was wondering, Rahina, if this is a model or friend or you-somewhat disguised. Just curious, but I'm surprised the model didn't buy it.Great work! Have a nice weekend.Sincerely,Gary.
hi Gary, your comments provide me with such useful insight... thank you.... to answer your questions the sitter will remain anonymous unless she herself wishes to reveal her name... i hope the painting stands alone, as a portrait that touches others in someway. as for the sale of this piece.... well, let's see.... :)
Hey.... how we doin' over here?Like Gary says, it looks a bit like you rahina, maybe a family member?I like the eyes too and the tilt of the head, very relaxed, especially for what could have been a static image, you did good here.More please, too long between posts...Keep painting rahina...
hi David... painting away as always but yes the space between posts is rather long but these paintings are taking forever and a day to feel right ;) i read once that all artists sub-consciously put something of themselves into paintings... doing portraits must somewhere carry something of oneself. i know that when i was recently painting another portrait, at points it felt the face was mine ..... it is something we fail to recognise: how alike we all are. thank you for your kind thoughts... i will work harder to get another out in the next couple of days i hope.
Beautiful work. What an elegant but mischievous face. Reminds me of someone. Now I must get back to shaping my nails:D
she was a very nice woman from York... sounds like the start of a limerick but honestly, she was.
Heh. Yes it does. ...Who liked to listen to Björk :DGlad that you doing great!
Nice work Rahina! Your figures always look alive...not just marks on a page.
thank you Simon, appreciate your thoughts on my work. r.
