there might be different readings of this painting...

Gorgeous painting rahina!
and so different from recent work of yours, love to see artists spread their (artistic) wings.

Glad to see you back after your hand recovery.
keep painting...

Fascinating painting Rahina, makes me wonder who the drummer is, quite mysterious yet the bright colours give this a cheerful feeling.

thanks David, i have done shoes before some posts back, they say something about the person and i guess that is why i hone in on them.

thanks Suzanne, glad you like this one... it was enjoyable to paint

thanks Caroline, maybe i'll paint his face for the next painting as it is as striking as his dress sense;)

I really like this. If this is another direction you are going in I do hope you will keep it up. Not at the expense of your portraiture but as another avenue. Wonderful.

Love the political overtones Rahina - and it's beautifully painted.

hi Gary, thank you.. as for directions? i never know where i am going from one minute to the next;)

hi Sheila, i wondered how it might be interpreted and i am glad you mentioned that. the American flag crushed underfoot... would it offend or would it be taken in the way i intended: an artistic statement. whatever it is, i am glad it has meaning for you:)
